Tesla has introduced a new feature making it easier for drivers towing trailers or equipment to locate compatible Supercharger stations, delivering on recent company commitments to improve this functionality.

Tesla’s official Tesla Charging account on X showcased the new feature on Tuesday through a screenshot demonstration.

The update intelligently prioritizes trailer-friendly Supercharger locations for vehicles in Trailer Mode and allows quick access to compatible stations with a simple tap even when not in this mode.

The enhancement was first mentioned in Tesla’s software update 2024.44 release notes earlier this month, but this marks the first public glimpse of the feature’s user interface.

North American Charging Director Max de Zegher provided additional context about the implementation, highlighting the use of “Please Use Last” signage at these locations.

These signs request that Tesla owners only use pull-through Supercharger stations when other spots are occupied, ensuring optimal accessibility for vehicles with trailers.

The development follows Tesla’s September preview of the trailer-compatible navigation feature, accompanied by plans to expand pull-through Supercharger stall availability.

This expansion has been accelerated by Tesla’s pre-fabricated stall manufacturing approach, which has significantly reduced costs and increased deployment efficiency.

In parallel developments, Tesla continues to advance its charging infrastructure:

  • Global rollout of V4 Superchargers is ongoing
  • Recent introduction of a new V4 cabinet supporting up to 500kW charging speeds (and 1.2MW for Semi trucks)
  • Q3 2023 saw the addition of 2,800 new Supercharger stalls, representing a 23% year-over-year increase
  • Energy delivery through Superchargers reached 1.4TWh in Q3, up 27% compared to the previous year

The navigation enhancement demonstrates Tesla’s commitment to improving the charging experience for all users, particularly those with specific vehicle configurations or towing needs.
