Early Friday, people set fire to several Tesla cars in Berlin. Protests against Tesla and Elon Musk are happening around the world. German police said four cars burned in Plänterwald and Steglitz. They think it might be tied to politics.

Why It’s a Big Deal
Tesla locations are getting attacked in many places. This started after Musk joined President Donald Trump’s team to run the Department of Government Efficiency. Tesla’s stock has gone down lately. Some say it’s because of Musk working with Trump.
What Went Down
The first fire started at 1:40 a.m. in Berlin. More fires happened overnight. Firefighters stopped the flames, but four Teslas were ruined. Five other cars nearby got a little damaged.
Berlin police handed the case to the State Security Division of the Berlin State Criminal Police Office. That group looks into serious stuff like terrorism and extremism.
Germany has had protests against Musk since he backed the far-right AfD party before the February election. People have gone after Tesla factories too. Back in January, someone projected a picture of Musk doing a bad salute on the Berlin Gigafactory. It had the words “Heil Tesla” with it.
What Police Are Saying
Berlin police put out a statement. They said:
“As yet unknown perpetrators set fire to a total of four Tesla electric cars in Plänterwald and Steglitz last night. No one was injured, and firefighters extinguished the fires. Since a political motive cannot be ruled out, the State Security Division of the Berlin State Criminal Police Office has taken over the ongoing investigation.”
What Happens Now
Police will keep looking into it. They don’t know who did it yet. The reason behind the fires isn’t clear either.
