Tesla is close to finishing its new project in Hollywood, a location that combines a Supercharger station, a 24-hour diner, and a drive-in theater. The site mixes retro style with Tesla’s tech-focused approach. The goal is to create a space where drivers can charge, eat, and watch a movie without leaving their cars.
New In-Car Feature Lets Drivers Order Food While Charging
The latest software update, version 2025.8.6, adds a tool called “Charger Diner Controls.” This lets Tesla owners order food from the diner and pay from their car. The system charges the card linked to the driver’s Tesla account. Staff then bring the food directly to the Supercharger stall. Reports suggest the feature shows up when a car is parked near the Hollywood site.
The update was first spotted by a Tesla app user and confirmed by Greentheonly, a well-known Tesla software tracker. One app update described the process with the phrase, “Plug in, place your order, recharge.”
Movie Screens Are Now Running Tests
Two large LED screens, each 45 feet wide, have been turned on. They’re showing test patterns and Tesla content. A recent video posted online shows the screens in action, pointing to how close the project is to being finished.
