Tesla’s AI team has dropped an exciting hint about a potential update for the Tesla Semi. In a recent post on X, the team suggested that the all-electric Class 8 truck might soon be equipped with driver-assist features, marking a significant development for the vehicle.

This news comes on the heels of the successful initial rollout of the Cybertruck’s FSD (Supervised) system. Early access testers have provided positive feedback, indicating that the system performs well on the electric pickup truck.

Responding to the Cybertruck FSD updates, the Tesla AI team posted a cryptic message: “And just like that, the last fledgling leaves the nest.” This intriguing comment sparked curiosity, as the Tesla Semi has not yet received FSD capabilities.

When community members inquired about potential updates to the Semi’s FSD (Supervised) system, the AI team replied with tantalizing hints. One response simply stated, “But wait, there’s more,” while another mentioned a “Season finale, not final season.”

The electric vehicle community has responded enthusiastically to these hints. Many believe that implementing FSD (Supervised) on the Tesla Semi could be a game-changer for fleet operators. The system’s reputation for cautious, rule-abiding driving could potentially make delivery operations safer and more predictable.

Some observers have also noted the intriguing name of Tesla’s upcoming Robotaxi unveiling event on October 10, 2024: “We, Robot.” This title might suggest that multiple FSD-powered products could be showcased, announced, or discussed at the event.

As anticipation builds, the possibility of driver-assist features coming to the Tesla Semi represents another step forward in the company’s pursuit of autonomous transportation across its vehicle lineup.
