Tesla has brought its Cybercab robotaxi to the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles for display during the holiday season.

The self-driving vehicle, which was originally unveiled at the “We, Robot” event in October 2024, is part of Tesla’s broader strategy to promote autonomous transportation and demonstrate its latest technological capabilities.

The Cybercab on display is one of 20 pre-production robotaxis that were showcased at the Warner Bros. Studios event in Burbank, California.

According to the Petersen Museum, the vehicle is a two-passenger autonomous vehicle featuring dihedral doors that open automatically and a hatchback for cargo storage.

It operates without pedals or a steering wheel, utilizing the same computer and sensing technology found in Tesla’s existing vehicle fleet.

The prototype will be exhibited in the museum’s main lobby from November 27, 2024, to January 2, 2025, allowing visitors to get a close-up view of the innovative self-driving technology.

Prior to its museum debut, the Cybercab has been displayed in various Tesla stores across the United States and was also showcased at Giga New York for the facility’s employees.

These exhibitions appear to be part of Tesla’s ongoing effort to generate public interest and demonstrate the potential of autonomous vehicle technology.
