Tesla set higher prices for the Model S Long Range and Model S Plaid. However, they are introducing a new benefit for new buyers of the Model S.

The company recently raised the prices for two versions of the Model S in the United States:

  • Model S Long Range now costs $79,990, which is a $5,000 rise.

This increase aligns the Model S price with the Model X at the same starting point.

It also matches the prices for Tesla Cybertruck AWD and Cyberbeast Trimotor non-Foundation Series models.

However, The vehicle configurations remain the same, suggesting the price hike relates to market changes.

This follows Tesla’s earlier 15% price drop for the Model S and Model X in 2023.

Free Supercharging

However, in a bid to attract buyers, Tesla now offers Free Lifetime Supercharging for new Model S purchases made after December 13, 2024.

Key details of this promotion include:

  • This offer links Supercharging to the specific vehicle and owner’s Tesla account.
  • The benefit cannot transfer to another vehicle or a new owner.
  • Owners still need to pay idle and congestion fees at Supercharger stations.
  • Currently, there is no set end date for this promotion.

The Lifetime Supercharging is valued at $5,000, which matches the recent price increase.

Looking ahead, the Model X remains steady for now, but more updates may come.

Potential buyers should watch for any changes to the Model X line.

This promotion might aim to encourage buyers who hesitate about choosing a premium Tesla vehicle.

It could also signal a return to including Lifetime Supercharging as a bonus for high-end models.
