Tesla Cybertruck and Lamborghini Drivers Arrested in Virginia Race

Two drivers have been arrested by Fairfax County Police following an illegal street race between a Tesla Cybertruck and a Lamborghini that captured widespread attention on social media, including acknowledgment from Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

The October 13 race, which took place near Leesburg Pike and Westwood Center Drive in Tysons, Virginia, came to light after footage of the event went viral, garnering over 100 million views on X (formerly Twitter). The video caught the attention of authorities when a Real Time Crime Center detective spotted it on October 29.

Following an investigation, police identified Christian Camacho, 48, of Vienna, as the driver of the Tesla Cybertruck, and Carlos Montero, 37, of Sterling, as the Lamborghini driver. Both men faced serious charges for their involvement in the illegal street race.

Camacho turned himself in at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on November 1, where he was charged with Racing and Stopping on the Highway. The same day, officers arrested Montero, who faced additional charges including two counts of Improper Lane Change along with Racing and Stopping on the Highway. Both drivers were subsequently released on unsecured bonds.

The investigation remains active as authorities continue their search for a third participant – the “flagger” who can be seen in the viral video. The Fairfax County Police Department is urging anyone with information about the case to contact their Crash Reconstruction Unit at 703-280-0543.
