Polestar owners can now access Tesla’s vast Supercharger network across North America, marking a significant expansion in charging options for the Swedish automaker’s customers.

The integration grants access to over 17,800 Tesla Superchargers throughout the United States and Canada.

The company announced today that all current Polestar electric vehicles can now utilize Tesla’s charging infrastructure through special adapters, which will be available at Polestar Service Points with deliveries starting in mid-November.

Looking ahead, Polestar will also integrate Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) directly into future vehicles, eliminating the need for adapters.

Anders Gustafsson, Head of Polestar North America, emphasized the significance of this development:

“By offering customers access to the Tesla Supercharger network, we are able to provide owners with more charging options than ever before, elevating the Polestar ownership experience with more efficient charging convenience and capabilities. With the adoption of this standard, in combination with approximately 10,000 CCS DC fast chargers, current and prospective Polestar customers now have access to nearly 27,800 DC fast chargers and can feel more confident in their ability to charge on the go.”

To enhance the user experience, Polestar will update its in-car Google Maps to display all available charging locations.

The Supercharger access will be available across all three current Polestar models.

This move follows similar agreements made by other major automakers, including Ford, Rivian, Aptera, and General Motors, who have also partnered with Tesla to access its Supercharger network. While Polestar initially announced its plans to adopt NACS in June 2023, the implementation was delayed from its earlier estimated timeline to the current release.

With this integration, Polestar joins the growing list of automotive manufacturers embracing Tesla’s charging infrastructure, further solidifying NACS as a dominant charging standard in North America.
