Tesla has officially launched the new Model Y in the United States, promising a more comfortable and efficient driving experience than its already popular predecessor.
According to Tesla’s configurator, deliveries for the Model Y Launch Series are set to begin in March 2025.
Exterior Upgrades
The new Model Y marks the first major update to the electric crossover since its debut in 2019.
Tesla has given the vehicle a more aggressive, aerodynamic design, which improves range, performance, and durability.
Other updates include:
- Redesigned wheels, tires, and brakes.
- A retuned suspension for a smoother ride.
- Eight exterior cameras, including a front bumper camera with a self-cleaning feature.

The new Model Y in the U.S. comes in four paint options: Stealth Gray, Ultra Red, Pearl White Multi-Coat, and Quicksilver.
Notably, Glacier Blue, available in China, isn’t offered in the U.S. All Launch Series paint options are free.
Interior Upgrades
The interior of the new Model Y has seen even more significant changes. Like the updated Model 3, the front seats are now ventilated, and the second-row seats are power-folding and electronically adjustable.
Other interior highlights include:
- Acoustic glass for a quieter cabin.
- “Invisible speakers” for a premium audio experience.
- A single physical stalk, unlike the stalkless Model 3.
- A 15-speaker sound system with a subwoofer for top-notch audio quality.
The New Tesla Model Y Deliveries and Pricing
The Model Y Launch Series is currently available only as a Long Range All-Wheel Drive variant, with an EPA-estimated range of 320 miles and a 0-60 mph time of 4.1 seconds.
The new Model Y costs $59,990, including Full Self-Driving (FSD).
If leasing is more your style, the Model Y Launch Series is available for $699 a month with a $2,999 down payment for (36 months, 10,000 miles per year)
