The Classic Model Y
While the new Model Y is turning heads in showrooms, the classic Model Y is still holding its own.
Last week’s vehicle registrations showed that about 80% of new Tesla sales in China were still the previous-generation Model Y.
In one notable case, a customer even bought a Quicksilver Model Y classic from a showroom, even as the new “Juniper” units were on display nearby.
What’s Next?
The new Model Y “Juniper” has begun appearing in Tesla showrooms across China, signaling that customer deliveries are likely just around the corner.
While the updated design and features are poised to attract plenty of attention, the classic Model Y continues to hold its ground, with strong sales showing it’s still a favorite among buyers.
