Tesla opened a ticket contest for riders on its autonomous transport network on Monday, giving passengers who take trips before late August a shot at attending an official Cybercab debut.
Riders who finish trips through August 23 at 11:59 PM CDT gain chances to attend the upcoming gathering. The company stated that taking more trips improves overall odds. Selected ticket winners will find out their status on August 25 by 9 AM CDT.

Event details and Austin rollout plans
Tesla left out several logistics items from the public notice. The company did not publish a venue address or establish an exact calendar date for the gathering. The post did not specify qualifying regional boundaries for riders either. Internal briefings reported by The Information indicate that staff members received notice about a public Cybercab rollout in Austin before September arrives. Austin employees will test trips on public streets before those vehicles join the broader regional network. Local emergency teams finished preliminary coordination drills with the automaker in recent weeks.

The Cybercab platform
The vehicle operates as a two-seat electric transport unit built without a steering wheel or foot pedals. The car runs on the company’s autonomous navigation software instead of using radar units or laser gear. The package includes a travel rating around 293 miles between battery charges. Factory units assembled at Gigafactory Texas have undergone road verification runs since June. Company engineers recently fitted testing prototypes with Starlink antenna hardware to test vehicle connectivity.

Commercial passenger trips across the service currently rely on modified Model Y vehicles. The transit network operates in Texas locations including Austin, Dallas, and Houston along with regional routes in Miami. And, the automaker secured operating permission from federal environmental regulators to place the platform into public transit fleets. The manufacturer built early evaluation models at Gigafactory Texas during early 2026. Public passengers have not taken rides in the two-seat model yet. Riders in active operational markets face an August 23 cutoff to complete rides for entry consideration.
