Tesla China will start delivering the new Model Y on February 26. Tesla China shared the news on its official Weibo account.
The Road to First Deliveries
When Tesla first announced the new Model Y in China, it said deliveries would likely begin around March 2025. This was pending regulatory approval.
Earlier this month, the new Model Y was listed in a catalog of vehicles eligible for purchase tax deductions, as reported by CNEV Post. This indicated the vehicle had completed all regulatory steps for sale in China.
On February 18, Tesla confirmed that mass production of the new Model Y had started at Gigafactory Shanghai. Around the same time, some Tesla watchers noticed that estimated delivery dates for new Model Y orders had shifted to February 2025.

Tesla China confirmed on Weibo that deliveries of the new Model Y will start on February 26, 2025.

About the New Model Y
The first deliveries will be for the “Launch Series” of the new Model Y. This series comes in two versions, Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) and All Wheel Drive (AWD).
The Launch Series includes special features like a unique rear badge, light projections, and interior upgrades. It also comes with an extra two-year or 40,000-kilometer warranty.
Tesla China will sell the Launch Series until the end of February.
