At a Tesla store in North Hollywood, the new Model Y drew a big crowd on Saturday. The car came from Tesla’s Fremont factory a few days earlier.
This is clear from the VIN number, where the 11th character is “F” for Fremont. Tesla will start delivering the new Model Y to customers in March.

The new Model Y looks different from the older version. Both were on display at the North Hollywood store.

The changes are easy to see, The new Y takes design cues from the Cybertruck and Cybercab. It has a light bar on the front and back, giving it a fresh, modern look.

Inside, the Model Y has been updated, the dashboard is redesigned, the door panels are new, and the center console is more polished.

Tesla used better materials, like softer fabrics and improved stitching. The interior feels more refined and comfortable.

The new Juniper Model Y has many updates. Here’s what’s changed:
- It’s 4% more aerodynamic.
- The Long Range AWD trim now has 320 miles of range, up 2.8%.

- The glass roof has a new silver coating, making it 7x better at reflecting heat. This reduces the load on the HVAC system, improving efficiency.

- A new 16-speaker sound system replaces the old 14-speaker setup. It has better midrange and more punch.

- The vanity mirror has a CRI index over 90% for more accurate makeup application.

- Passengers are better protected from door impacts with a new latch at the bottom of the door.

- The rear tail light bar is the first of its kind with an indirect reflective design.

- Fog lights are removed. Headlights are now under the new front light bar.
- An 8″ touchscreen is added for rear passengers to control climate and entertainment. Two headsets can connect at once.
- Three 65W USB-C chargers can power a laptop.
- Bluetooth and cellular connectivity are improved. WiFi range is doubled, and phone connectivity is 10x better.
- Two new wheel designs optimize battery life.
- The rear Tesla logo is replaced with Tesla lettering.
- The car is 1.6″ longer overall.
- The front light bar gives a slimmer, sleeker look.
- A new “TESLA” logo is added to the steering wheel.
