Tesla is working with Steak ‘n Shake to add Superchargers at more than 100 of its restaurants in the U.S. The fast-food chain’s social media team talked with Elon Musk on X, leading to this partnership.

Tesla has already signed six locations, with more than 20 in design review. On Thursday, Tesla’s charging account posted,
“Let’s lock in those layouts Steak ‘n Shake.”
The restaurant chain replied,
Thank you Tesla Charging! Let’s do over 100 locations. Consider all sites approved!

Tesla’s Drive-In and Diner Project
Tesla is also building a Supercharger diner and drive-in movie theater in Los Angeles. The idea started with a post on X in 2018.
The company began construction in September 2023. While Tesla hasn’t shared an opening date, progress is moving fast. The company is even preparing a mobile app for the location.
Next-Generation V4 Superchargers
Tesla plans to roll out V4 Supercharger cabinets this year. These chargers can provide up to 500kW when fully enabled. Tesla’s Director of Charging for North America, Max de Zegher, said each V4 stall costs under $40,000 to install.
The company is speeding up deployment with pre-fabricated units made in groups of four at its Gigafactory in Buffalo, New York. This helps lower costs and get chargers up faster.
