Tesla is working on a new Supercharger station in Roswell, New Mexico. It’s called the CyberCanopy. Reports and planning papers suggest it will have RGB lighting and a UFO-themed look. The site will sit at a Whataburger, mixing fast food with electric vehicle tech. Eight charging stalls and a 20.88kW solar array are part of the plan. It will use V4 Supercharger tech for fast charging.
Why Roswell?
Roswell is known for a supposed UFO crash in 1947. Tesla seems to be playing off that history with this design. The location could draw EV drivers and curious visitors alike. Putting it at a Whataburger on N Main St adds a practical twist to the high-tech setup.
What the Design Looks Like
The CyberCanopy will have a futuristic style, tied to the Cybertruck’s sharp angles. RGB lighting will brighten the area at night, making it safer and more comfortable. A hedgehog image might show up under the canopy as a fun detail.

The UFO theme comes straight from Roswell’s past, confirmed by Tesla’s charging boss, Max de Zegher. He said they want Superchargers
“cool enough to be worthy of the trip itself.”
LED lights shaped like a Star Trek ship could add to the alien vibe, along with light bars styled after the Cybertruck or Model Y.

Tech Specs
This station will have eight stalls, smaller than some Tesla sites. It’s set to use V4 Superchargers, an improvement over the older V3 version.

The 20.88kW solar array will produce clean energy, feeding it to cars or back to the grid. It’s not a big setup compared to sites with Megapacks, but it fits Tesla’s push for renewable power. No battery storage is planned here.
Where the Info Comes From
Planning papers from 2023, found by a Supercharger fan named Marco. Max de Zegher’s comments added weight. The project is still in approval, with no set finish date.

How It Fits Tesla’s Plans
Tesla has been switching up its Supercharger game lately. This Roswell site follows a trend of making stations stand out, like the drive-in diner one in Santa Monica. It’s about more than just charging, it’s a spot people might want to visit. Zoning and building timelines could still slow things down.
How It Stacks Up
A CyberCanopy idea in Canton, Massachusetts, never got past planning and ended up as a regular station. Roswell’s version has more going for it: lighting, UFO vibes, and that hedgehog touch. It could make charging feel safer and more fun, especially at night.

What It Could Mean
This station might pull in more people, boosting Tesla’s image. It’s still in the works, so delays are possible. If it pans out, Tesla might try more themed stations elsewhere. The mix of RGB lights, UFO design, and a smart location shows they’re aiming to make charging a bigger deal than just plugging in.
