Tesla rolls out ‘Charging Passport’ yearly charging recap

Tesla has introduced a new feature in its app called “Charging Passport,” which gives owners a yearly summary of how they charged their vehicles in 2025. The feature is still rolling out, and some drivers will see it later than others.

Where charging passport appears

Charging Passport lives inside the Tesla mobile app under the Charging section. Owners can open the app, tap “Charging” on the home screen, and look for their 2025 view labeled as a yearly summary or “Charging Passport”.

The feature is tied to Supercharging and other public charging data recorded by the vehicle and linked account.

The new view highlights several core metrics from the past year. These include:

  • Total number of unique Supercharger stations visited in 2025.
  • Total charging sessions recorded over the year.
  • Total miles added while charging across all sessions.
  • The “top charging day,” which is the date with the highest charging activity.
  • The longest trip logged, based on driving and charging data.
  • A list of “favorites,” likely the most frequently visited charging locations.

These figures turn routine charging records into a clear snapshot of how a driver used the network over the year.

Charging badges and achievements

Charging Passport also introduces a badge system that rewards different charging habits and locations. Early users have reported several badge types in the app:

The first group of badges focuses on broad use and distance.

  • Explorer: Awarded after a driver has visited 10 different Supercharger locations.
  • Mega Charger: Unlocked once the vehicle has charged a total of 4 MWh over the year.
  • Green Driver: Given when charging has added 5,000 miles or more of range across all sessions.

These three set basic benchmarks for network use, energy taken on, and distance covered in 2025.

Another set of badges rewards heavier use and trips to landmark sites.

  • Top Charger: Granted to owners who fall into the top 25% of Tesla drivers for total charging activity.
  • Iconic Charger – Oasis: Earned by charging at Tesla’s Oasis Supercharger site, a large solar-backed location that has become a flagship installation.
  • Iconic Charger – Tesla Diner: Given to anyone who charges at the Tesla Diner Supercharger in West Hollywood, which combines a Supercharger hub with a retro diner and outdoor screens.

The last group captures savings, work habits and first-time use.

  • Sustainable Saver: Awarded when an owner has saved at least 300 dollars in fuel costs compared with typical gasoline spending, based on Tesla’s internal estimates.
  • Hard Worker: Unlocked when most charging across the year happens at workplace locations.
  • First Supercharge: Given the first time a driver uses any Supercharger site.

How it fits with Tesla’s charging strategy

Charging Passport arrives as Tesla continues to push its Supercharger network and related services like MultiPass for third‑party stations. Tesla has expanded high-profile sites such as the retro-futuristic diner in California and a growing set of large, solar-supported Supercharger hubs. The new feature gives owners a way to see how often they use these locations and how their charging habits evolve over a year.

The tool also taps into social sharing trends, since yearly recaps of music listening, fitness, and other activities have become popular across apps. Owners can use Charging Passport to look back on road trips, track heavy-use days, and compare charging patterns with friends or online communities.

Charging Passport is not available to every owner yet, and access may depend on app version and region. Users who do not see the feature can update the Tesla app to the latest release and check the Charging tab again later in December.
