Tesla Updates Model Y Lineup in Europe, Ends Launch Series

Tesla has changed its Model Y lineup in Europe. The company introduced new models and removed the limited-edition Launch Series. Customers now have more choices and lower-priced options.

The Launch Series is no longer available in most European countries. The UK is the only exception, where it remains for sale alongside the new models.

New Model Y Variants

Tesla now offers three Model Y versions in Europe. Prices vary by country.

  • RWD: €44,990, shortest range, fewer features.
  • LR RWD: €49,990, larger battery, slight price increase.
  • LR AWD: €52,990, premium materials, better audio, faster acceleration, price drop.

All versions include updates like new front and rear light bars, improved aerodynamics, ventilated seats, better heat and sound insulation, and an 8-inch rear touchscreen.

Midnight Cherry Red paint is no longer an option, but Tesla plans to add new colors for North America.

Launch Series Ends

The Launch Series was a limited-edition Model Y priced at €60,990. It came with Full Self-Driving, Acceleration Boost, and special badging. The rear liftgate, door sill plates, and puddle lights had exclusive details.

New buyers can get a similar vehicle by choosing the LR AWD and adding FSD. Acceleration Boost should be available after deliveries start. However, some design details will stay unique to the Launch Series.

The UK still offers the Launch Series, but other countries have moved to the new lineup.

Model Y Performance Still Missing

Tesla hasn’t released a new Model Y Performance yet. The Launch Series was quick thanks to Acceleration Boost, but a proper Performance model is expected later this year.

It could have upgraded bumpers, a spoiler, better suspension, sport seats, and Track Mode V3, like the latest Model 3 Performance.

The performance version is expected to cost $5,000-$8,000 more than the AWD model.

Other Markets to Follow

Europe is phasing out the Launch Series, and other regions will likely follow. With the new models now available, buyers in other countries can decide if they want to buy the Launch Series while it lasts or wait for the updated lineup.

Tesla adjusts its offerings based on demand. If the Launch Series sells well in other regions, the company may delay the transition.
