A Tesla Supercharger station in Lacey, Washington, took heavy damage from an explosion early Tuesday. Reports say it happened around 1:34 a.m. The blast took out transformers and electrical switchgear, knocking out all 12 stalls. The FBI and Lacey Police are on the case, and Tesla is helping to get things back online with local authorities and Puget Sound Energy. Some tie this to a string of attacks protesting Elon Musk’s political moves.

The explosion hit at 1:34 a.m. Tuesday. People nearby called the Lacey Police after hearing a loud bang. When officers got there, they found the station wrecked, transformers and power gear blown apart. No one was charging then, so no one got hurt. Cops think it was a bomb.

Who’s Handling It
Lacey Police showed up fast. Detective Sergeant Jeremy Knight said,
“We are currently working with our detective unit in cooperation with our federal partners to investigate and expect to be out here for some time today.”
The FBI stepped in, taking the lead. Tesla posted on X through their Charging account,
“We’re on-site with @LaceyPolice and @FBI, and reviewing camera footage. Also coordinating with @PSETalk to get the Superchargers back online asap. Don’t mess with critical infrastructure.”
This isn’t a one-off. It’s tied to Elon Musk working with the Trump administration on government efficiency, some say. It’s got people worried about keeping EV chargers safe.
EV drivers in Lacey are stuck for now. The FBI being there means it could be a big deal, maybe even domestic terrorism.
What People Think
Tesla fans aren’t happy. @GrindeOptions on X said,
“These attacks need to stop.”
Another user, @TroyRubert, asked what it means for freedom. People are mad and talking about Musk’s politics, stirring this up. They want tougher action.
