Tesla expands in-house rental service to new U.S. states

Tesla is adding its direct vehicle rental service to Maryland, Kansas, Washington, and Pennsylvania. Job listings for a Rental Readiness Specialist confirm the automaker is preparing to launch the program in these locations. The setup lets customers book a car for three to seven days straight from the company, and that gives potential buyers a hands-on test drive without going through a normal agency.

Perks included with every booking

The package bundles several features together for a flat rate, which sets it apart from regular car rentals. Renters get unlimited miles during their trip, and they receive free Supercharging so they can take longer drives without paying for electricity. The cars come with Full Self-Driving built in, letting people experience the driver assistance software on their daily routes. Customers who buy a new car within a week of their rental get a $250 credit applied to the purchase, offsetting the initial cost.

Base prices start at $60 a day for the Model 3 and Model Y, but if you want to drive a Cybertruck, the rate is $75 per day. The final cost could change depending on local taxes and state rules, so renters should check directly with participating showrooms to confirm the exact prices in their area. The cars will sit at select company locations instead of regular airport lots, making the pickup process different from standard rentals.

The company has not announced an official launch date for these states yet, as it takes time to hire staff and get the inventory ready. Soon, customers will likely see the booking option appear inside the phone app when the locations go live.
