Tesla’s Super Manifold V2: Simpler Cooling, Better Range

Tesla’s new Super Manifold V2 makes the heat pump system easier to build and maintain. This single part combines what used to be 15 to 20 components into one compact unit, using a two-layer printed circuit board to stay organized.

As of September 2025, Super Manifold V2 is included in most new Model Y vehicles and all Cybertruck models. Tesla began adding this part in early 2025 after two years of development and testing, with early versions already used in Cybertruck since 2023.

Nearly all new Model Y cars now have it, though a few earlier builds might still use the old design depending on the factory and supply chain. The company expects to finish the upgrade for all new Model Y vehicles by year’s end and may expand it to Model S and Model X next.

Real benefits for everyday driving

Super Manifold V2 helps the car heat and cool the cabin faster. It can save and share heat from places like the battery or motors, keeping the car warm in winter and charging speeds up even in cold weather. The system handles up to sixteen different heat sources.

The Octovalve allows the manifold to switch between heating and cooling functions. Tesla’s software manages everything, and an upcoming update will tell owners which hardware they have.

Super Manifold V2 delivers better cooling than the older system and uses less energy, so drivers get more range. Reports from summer confirm the system is working well in Model Y and Cybertruck, with no major problems. Tesla uses this same hardware in different models, changing only the software, which helps save money and makes service easier.

Now that the part is in most new cars, Tesla vehicles use less energy and do better in hot or cold weather, all with a system that’s simpler to repair.
