Tesla is getting ready to open its Drive-In Diner Supercharger, and the latest app update gives us some cool hints.
Located on Santa Monica Boulevard in Los Angeles, this Supercharger will be more than just a charging spot, it’ll have food, drinks, and movies playing on big outdoor screens.
What’s the Tesla Drive-In Diner Supercharger?
First teased by CEO Elon Musk years ago, the Drive-In Diner Supercharger is designed to be more than just a charging stop.
It’s a full-blown entertainment experience. While you charge your Tesla, you can grab a bite to eat, enjoy a drink, and watch movie clips on giant outdoor screens.
The project has been in development for years, with Tesla securing permits for essentials like HVAC and plumbing. Now, the launch is finally close.
App Updates Suggest Launch is Near
The biggest clue the Drive-In Diner is almost ready? Tesla’s latest app update (version 4.41.0).
The update includes a user interface for the diner, complete with an icon and coding references like:
- ‘DinerHomeScreen’
- ‘profile_settings_diner_description’
- ‘View menu & amenities’
These updates suggest Tesla is putting the finishing touches on the diner’s digital integration, making it easier for users to explore menus and amenities directly from the app.
What’s Next?
The app updates hint the Drive-In Diner is close to opening, but Tesla hasn’t set a launch date yet.
With construction progressing and the app ready, the project is clearly on track.
