Tesla China has announced a new incentive for customers who order a new vehicle through the company’s official trade-in service before December 3. These customers will have the opportunity to win a tour of Tesla’s Gigafactory Shanghai.
The incentive was announced on Tesla’s official Weibo account, China’s leading social media platform. According to the post, ten winners will be selected to receive the Gigafactory Shanghai tour, which includes round-trip airfare and one night of hotel accommodation for the winner and a friend.
Gigafactory Shanghai is Tesla’s largest production facility, with an estimated annual output of over 950,000 vehicles, according to the Q3 2024 Update Letter. The plant manufactures the Model 3 and Model Y for both the Chinese domestic market and export to foreign markets.
The factory has recently achieved several significant milestones. In late September, Tesla China announced that it had exported its one-millionth vehicle from Gigafactory Shanghai, just four years after the facility began exporting. Additionally, in October, the factory produced its three-millionth car, a red Tesla Model Y.
The opportunity to tour Gigafactory Shanghai is likely to be a popular incentive among Tesla’s customers in China.
