Tesla has started sending out its latest software update, 2025.26. This update brings Grok AI to Tesla cars in the US, along with new features for music, audio, dashcam, charging, and an onboarding guide for new owners.

Grok AI Now in Tesla Cars

Grok AI is now live in Tesla vehicles that have AMD Ryzen processors. It is only available in the US for now. You need Premium Connectivity or a WiFi connection to use it. You can start Grok by holding the microphone button on the steering wheel. Tesla says a wake-word option will come later.

Grok is different from Tesla’s old voice commands. You can talk to it in normal language and ask it questions. It does not control the car yet, but it can answer many types of questions. Grok comes with three voices: Ara, Rex, and Gork. You can also pick from different personality modes, like Assistant, Therapist, or child-friendly.

The update adds Light Sync, which matches the car’s ambient lights to your music. This works on new Model 3 and Model Y, 2026 Model S and Model X, and Cybertruck. The lights change with the beat and can pick colors from the album art. You can find this under Toybox > Light Sync.

Audio Presets for Quick Changes

Tesla now lets you save different audio settings as presets. You can make separate setups for different music types. This helps if you like to change your sound settings often. You can find this under Controls > Audio.

Dashcam and Charging Updates

The dashcam now lets you zoom in and change playback speed. Cybertruck owners get a new grid view for dashcam videos. This makes it easier to find and watch recordings.

Charging Info at Arrival now shows more details about Supercharger stops. You will see if a location needs valet service or if you have to pay to park. You also get info like access codes, floor numbers, and restroom locations when you arrive.

New Model 3 and Model Y owners with left-hand drive get an onboarding guide. This guide helps set up the seat, mirrors, and steering wheel. It shows how to use the touchscreen, Autopilot, and other basics. You can find it under Controls > Service > Onboarding Guide.

The update is rolling out in stages. Grok AI only works on cars with AMD Ryzen chips right now. Light Sync needs newer hardware. You need Premium Connectivity or WiFi for Grok.

Tesla’s stock went up after the Grok AI news. Some investors think this gives Tesla an edge over other carmakers. Ford and Mercedes-Benz are working on their own AI assistants, but Tesla is the first to put a large language model in its cars.

Tesla says Grok is just the start. More AI features could come later. However, the 2025.26 update is rolling out now. More cars will get it in the coming weeks.
