Tesla China had 13,400 new vehicle registrations from January 20 to February 2, 2025. This period included the Chinese New Year holiday.
Last year, Tesla China had 8,300 registrations during the same holiday. This means registrations grew by 61.4%.
Car production and deliveries usually drop during this time. A report from CNEV Post noted that automakers see lower activity during the holiday.

Tesla China’s January Sales
Tesla China sold 63,238 vehicles wholesale in January 2025.
This is an 11.49% drop from the 71,447 units sold in January 2024. Sales also fell 32.56% from December 2024, when Tesla sold 93,766 vehicles.
New Model Y Production and Deliveries
Tesla China’s recent delivery numbers may be lower due to the new Model Y. Deliveries have not started yet, but they are expected next month.
Videos from China show the updated Model Y in several Tesla stores. The new version has changes to both the exterior and interior.
