Tesla has reportedly selected an unexpected venue for its highly anticipated Robotaxi unveiling event on October 10. As reported by Bloomberg, the electric vehicle giant plans to showcase its new Robotaxi platform at the Warner Brothers Studio in Burbank, California.
The choice of location is intriguing, given the studio’s rich history in the entertainment industry. Warner Brothers Studio has been the backdrop for numerous iconic productions, including “Friends,” “Twister,” “Interstellar,” and “Aquaman.” The vast 110-acre complex, with its 31 diverse stages, may have been a key factor in Tesla’s decision, potentially offering ample space for demonstrations and presentations.
Originally scheduled for August 8, the event was postponed to October 10 following CEO Elon Musk’s request for a front-end design modification. Musk has hinted that the delay will allow Tesla to present additional features alongside the Robotaxi reveal.
Industry analysts, including Dan Ives, view the postponement optimistically. Ives suggests that the extra time could result in an even more impressive presentation, potentially unveiling “eye-popping” prototypes and technologies. He emphasizes the critical role of Robotaxi in Tesla’s long-term strategy and investors’ keen interest in detailed information about this autonomous vehicle initiative.
As reported by Bloomberg:
“While the knee-jerk reaction will clearly be negative on a delay of August 8th based on this report that just hit, we believe the timing of robotaxis, partnerships, and the ultimate autonomous and AI-driven technology does not change at all for our bullish Tesla thesis. To some extent, we believe this 2-month delay could just make the actual Robotaxi event and prototypes even better, and more eye-popping for Tesla as Musk and the team know this unlocks the key to the long-term future of the Tesla story, and investors want MORE details…not less at this historic event.”
Bloomberg first reported the Robotaxi event delay. Their latest venue report is likely credible.
