Tesla said the new Model Y would arrive in the U.S. in March, but some buyers might get theirs earlier. Social media posts suggest deliveries could start this month.
Tesla’s Initial Timeline
Tesla introduced the new Model Y in late January. The company estimated that first deliveries in the U.S. would begin in March.
Other markets, like the Philippines, which get cars from Giga Shanghai, are expected to receive the new Model Y in April.
Reports of Early Deliveries
Some customers say Tesla is now telling them deliveries could start this month. Others have already received VINs for their orders.
Screenshots posted on X show that some buyers might get their cars in the coming weeks.

Are they underpromising and overdelivering?

Production and Ramp-Up
Tesla is building the new Model Y in four factories: Giga Shanghai, Fremont, Giga Texas, and Giga Berlin. This should help speed up production.
The previous Model Y was also delivered earlier than expected. When Elon Musk revealed the vehicle in March 2019, Tesla planned for Fall 2020 deliveries. Instead, the first units were handed over in March 2020.

Do you know when Tesla might have the white interior back in stock for the new Y?
I’m waiting to order, but I want the white interior.
