Someone attacked a Tesla dealership on Boucher Road in south Belfast. About 20 cars got damaged. The police think it happened overnight from Saturday to Sunday, March 16, 2025. They got a call Sunday morning about the mess.

What Happened

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) checked it out. They say the damage probably happened in the last 24 hours before Sunday morning. The cars got hit hard. Wing mirrors were broken off. Windows got smashed. Some cars have dents all over them. It looks like more than one person did this. No one knows who yet.

Police Response

Sergeant Rooney from the PSNI talked about it. He said,

“The damage is believed to have occurred at some point in the last 24 hours.”

“Approximately twenty vehicles have been targeted. Most have had their wing mirrors knocked off, while others have also had windows smashed or received dents to the bodywork.”

The police want help. They’re asking people who saw anything weird since Saturday afternoon to call 101. Use reference number 692 of 16/03/25. CCTV footage could help too.

Why This Might Have Happened

No one’s sure why this happened in Belfast. But Tesla and Elon Musk, have been catching heat lately. Other places like the U.S., Europe, and Australia have also seen Tesla stuff trashed. People there left messages mad about Musk’s politics and his work with U.S. President Donald Trump.

Last week, a Tesla spot in Tasmania got graffiti calling Musk a “Nazi.” In the U.S., some attacks used Molotov cocktails and guns.

Local Thoughts

Gary McKeown, a councilor from the SDLP in Botanic, didn’t like it. He said,

“This is an appalling event, and my thoughts are with those affected.”

A guy named Liam Doherty, who lives around there, saw it Sunday morning.

He stated,

“It’s senseless. Whoever did this isn’t hurting Elon Musk-they’re hurting the people who work here and the customers who rely on these cars. It’s just destruction for the sake of it.”

On X, people had mixed feelings. Some called it a crime. Others think it’s tied to hating Musk.

Tesla’s Side

Tesla hasn’t said anything about this yet.

What’s Next

The police are still looking into it. They want anyone with info to step up. For now, the dealership’s a mess. Glass is everywhere.

However, No one knows if this is just a local thing or part of something bigger against Tesla and Musk. The staff and customers are left picking up the pieces.
