Tesla unveils Marine Blue paint for Model Y at Giga Berlin

Tesla has made a new color for the Model Y called Marine Blue. This color is only available if you buy a Model Y from Gigafactory Berlin. The paint shop at Berlin is known for using advanced technology. Marine Blue is the third blue Tesla offers. Deep Blue Metallic and Glacier Blue are for other countries.

The price of Marine Blue is €1,300. This is the same price as Diamond Black and Stealth Grey. Quicksilver and Ultra Red cost twice as much. Marine Blue is only for the Premium and Performance versions of the Model Y. If you buy the Standard Model Y in Europe, you can’t pick Marine Blue.

Gigafactory Berlin makes paint that looks different depending on light and shape. The process uses several coats. Elon Musk said in 2020, “Giga Berlin will have the world’s most advanced paint shop, with more layers of stunning colors that subtly change with curvature.” Other Tesla factories like Fremont and Shanghai started upgrades to improve their paint shops, but Berlin is still the best for color choices.

Colors come and go. Midnight Cherry Red, a burgundy shade, was removed earlier in 2025, probably to make way for Marine Blue. Tesla looks at what people want and changes options. If people do not buy a color, it gets dropped.

The new color appears after Tesla released a more affordable Model Y Standard in Europe. Tesla keeps trying new paint ideas and updates its lineup often. However, Marine Blue is only sold for cars made at Berlin right now. Gigafactory Berlin seems to offer the most paint options compared to Tesla’s other plants.
