Tesla tests new holiday update with initial 2025.44 rollout

Tesla has released the 2025.44 software update to fewer than one percent of its fleet and this update is the base for the Holiday Update. Tesla uses this version to check for any issues before sending out the full package.

Dashcam viewer gets grid layout

Dashcam Viewer Updates

Tesla vehicles with Intel chips (MCU 2) get a new grid view in the Dashcam Viewer app and instead of only seeing one camera at a time, drivers can now see what each camera captures at once. You can jump to specific events using quick access buttons. This update matches upgrades that AMD Ryzen (MCU 3) vehicles got earlier in the year. Some cars might have different abilities based on their hardware.

Cabin overheat protection now smarter

You can now select “Exclude Home” for Cabin Overheat Protection and when No A/C is used. With this feature, your car will skip using energy to keep cool when it’s parked at home, but it still works everywhere else. The system cuts off after 12 hours or if your battery drops below 20 percent and you may pick if the cooling uses just ventilation or the full air conditioning.

Tesla sends out updates step by step. First, it picks a tiny group so it can spot and fix problems before more users get the new version. Cars are chosen based on region, hardware, and other details. If a problem pops up, Tesla can pause and fix it fast.

This base version mainly helps with bug catching and performance data for Tesla engineers. New features are coming in the bigger December roll-out known as 2025.44.25. You should expect updates to Santa Mode, Full Self-Driving for specific models, more entertainment features, and fresh additions for select vehicle hardware. Past years have brought games, festive displays, and app upgrades.

Intel and AMD Ryzen differences

Some features come to Intel vehicles later or might not come at all. AMD Ryzen vehicles get upgrades first since they run faster and handle graphics better. Tesla tries to balance releases, but older hardware can limit performance and features.

Wide release for the holiday update usually happens in mid-December.
