Tesla now lets owners rent a Tesla while theirs is being fixed after an accident. The service costs $45 a day. It’s available only when your car is getting body work at a Tesla Collision Center. Earlier, most insurance companies gave rentals for these repairs, but you’d usually get a regular gas car.
If your car is in a Tesla Collision Center for repairs, you can book a Tesla for $45 a day. The rental includes Full Self-Driving, Supercharging, and tolls, all free, no hidden fees. You’ll also get access to roadside assistance through the Tesla app.

The price is about the same as what insurance pays for rentals, sometimes less. Supercharging and Full Self-Driving can cost a lot separately, so those are nice extras. Tesla owners who spend a lot on charging or tolls for daily commutes or long trips may save money. Most rental companies don’t offer Teslas with FSD or free charging.
Where and how you can use it
Tesla offers this at select Collision Centers. Not all locations have it yet, and you need a confirmed repair appointment for your car. Tesla will tell you if a rental is available at your location and help you set it up.
Tesla is making more changes so repairs and service appointments run smoother. They’ve put more loaner cars into service locations. They also let people buy popular car accessories right at the waiting lounge, no need to order online or wait for shipping. Snacks and drinks in lounges have also improved.
How this helps customers
People who used to get gas rentals from insurance now stay in a Tesla while theirs is fixed. For Tesla Insurance users, rental coverage is often just $45 a day, so this program is a better fit. You keep the Tesla experience, EV driving and features during repairs.
Tesla’s new loaner program addresses a big pain point for owners who want convenience and to avoid regular cars while theirs is repaired. The company keeps adding more loaner vehicles and fine-tuning its service. It’s not available everywhere yet, but as more locations join in, it could become standard for customers who need collision repairs.
