Tesla pushes FSD V14.2 update to initial owners

Tesla started sending out Full Self-Driving (Supervised) version 14.2 2025.38.9.5 software update with the latest AI4 hardware. This software update brings new tech to how the car sees and reacts on the road. The neural network vision encoder now uses higher resolution features. This helps the system spot emergency vehicles, obstacles, and human gestures more accurately.

The update aims at real, everyday driving. For example, it can now better identify fire trucks or ambulances up ahead. It can also spot things like tires or branches in the road and act safely. And now, people on the street waving or signaling like crossing guards or construction workers are easier for the car’s cameras and software to notice and understand.

Extra care for safety and maintenance

If the front camera’s view is blocked by dirt or residue inside the windshield, the car alerts the owner. A visit to Service is suggested.

Real-world data shows FSD V14 can go further between critical disengagements (times a human must take over) than earlier versions. The car’s handling and smoothness have improved, with less rough braking or jerky motions.

The company plans to make FSD require less driver eye monitoring over time and expects more widespread, hands-off use soon. Tesla is pushing for truly “unsupervised” Full Self-Driving, aiming to make the car perform like an expert human behind the wheel.

The update brings attention to the following change:

“Upgraded the neural network vision encoder, leveraging higher resolution features to further improve scenarios like handling emergency vehicles, obstacles on the road, and human gestures.”
