Tesla China new vehicle registrations reach 10,700 units last week

Tesla China recorded 10,700 new vehicle registrations between July 21 and July 27, 2025. This is a 7.6% rise from the previous week, which had 9,900 registrations. Demand for the Model Y and Model 3 remains steady in the local market.

Compared to last year, total insurance registrations this year are still down by 21.1%. But the third quarter of 2025 is showing improvement. Registrations so far are 45.2% higher than what the second quarter reported. The 10,700 units last week are the second highest for any week this quarter.

Tesla does not release sales numbers each week. Industry watchers use these registration figures to estimate performance.

June sales details

In June 2025, Tesla China shipped 71,599 cars from its factories. This is a small rise of 0.83% from June 2024, when the number was 71,007. Compared to May 2025, wholesales went up by 16.1%. In June, domestic deliveries hit 61,484 units. This is the second highest number for a single month this year.

Upcoming Model Y L

Tesla is getting ready to offer the Model Y L in China. This version has six seats and a longer wheelbase. It is built to suit families. Tesla hopes this will help the brand compete with other local electric vehicle makers.
