Tesla brings Model Y Standard long range RWD to Europe

Tesla has added a new Model Y version for European buyers called the Model Y Standard Long Range RWD. The company announced it through the Tesla Europe & Middle East account on X, with a focus on range, efficiency and its latest driver‑assistance hardware.

On the WLTP cycle, this Model Y is rated at up to 657 km on a single charge, and that figure is the highest official range for any Model Y currently on sale in Europe. Energy use is low for its size, since Tesla quotes average consumption of 12.7 kWh per 100 km for this variant.

Powertrain, battery and space

This version uses a single rear‑mounted motor, and European spec reports place output around 220 kW, which is roughly 300 hp in more familiar terms. In early technical write‑ups, 0-60 mph is listed at about 7.2 seconds, so performance sits in the same general band as other range‑focused Model Y trims.

Battery information from EV databases points to about 60 kWh of usable capacity, and that figure lines up with both the WLTP range and the quoted consumption numbers. Cargo volume stays the same as other Model Y versions, with up to 2,118 liters available when the rear seats are folded, which continues to matter for families and for drivers who move larger loads.

Pricing and lineup role

In Germany, Tesla lists the Model Y Standard Long Range RWD from about €46,990, while order pages in France place the starting price near €44,990. Market data puts it roughly €7,000 above the base Model Y Standard, which carries a 534 km WLTP rating, and about €3,000 below the better‑equipped Model Y Premium RWD.

For drivers who want the longest rated range at a lower price than higher trims, this version creates a clear middle ground. For others, the small step up to the Premium RWD may appeal more, since that trim adds ventilated and heated leather seats, a panoramic glass roof, HEPA air filtration, matrix LED headlights and a stronger audio system, even though its WLTP range sits about 35 km lower.

AI4 computer and driver assistance

Tesla equips the Model Y Standard Long Range RWD with its AI4 computer, often called Hardware 4.0, which is the company’s latest Full Self‑Driving platform. AI4 delivers higher processing performance than the older Hardware 3.0 unit and supports higher‑resolution cameras, with figures of 2896×1876 pixels compared with 1280×960 pixels in the previous system.

This hardware runs the firm’s current driver‑assistance features and is built to handle more advanced Full Self‑Driving functions as software updates arrive and European regulators grant wider approval.

Production, delivery timing

Tesla plans to build this variant at Gigafactory Berlin‑Brandenburg in Grünheide, which already supplies Model Y units for Europe. Tesla says, first deliveries of the Model Y Standard Long Range RWD could begin as early as February 2026.

The car sits above the Model 3 Standard in price but targets buyers who want more space and a higher driving position than the sedan offers. The Model 3 Standard remains the cheaper entry point into Tesla’s range, yet many customers still look to the Model Y for its crossover body and larger cargo capacity even at a higher price.
