Tesla begins small rollout of Full Self-Driving V14.1.3 to regular users

Tesla owners outside the Early Access Program are now receiving the new Full Self-Driving (Supervised) version 14.1.3. This is the first time any V14 build has gone out to customers outside of any Early Access groups. Also, This update marks the third version of v14 released within two weeks, following v14.1 and v14.1.2 earlier this month.

V14.1.3 Tesla

Update V14 introduced some awesome and new speed profiles. It brings a new speed mode called “Mad Max” that drives more assertively. It makes lane changes faster and keeps pace with quicker traffic. Tesla owners testing this profile say the car feels more natural and confident, especially in highway driving. The mode allows higher speed limits and smoother merging decisions compared to earlier versions. The car adapts better to flow with surrounding vehicles and manages aggressive traffic more intelligently.

This release also adds a “Sloth” mode, offering the opposite experience. It reduces speed, makes cautious lane changes, and travels slower than “Chill” mode. The goal is to give drivers a safer and more comfortable choice in complex traffic situations. Tesla says the scroll wheel now adjusts driving profiles directly, linking your speed behavior to the selected mode for more consistent control.

Expanded parking and arrival

FSD v14.1.3 includes a new “Parking at Destination” feature. Drivers can pick where your car parks including driveway, street, curbside, parking lot, or parking garage. The system will try to park according to this choice and remember it for future trips. Some users have already shared clips of their cars finding specific parking spots automatically. The AI model can also suggest the most logical option based on location, like choosing curbside in urban zones or a lot in open areas.

Emergency awareness

Tesla can now spot flashing lights from emergency vehicles even in Mad Max mode and pull over or wait until the road is clear.

It also detects when emergency crews block lanes and automatically finds alternate routes.

The vision-based neural network now handles roadblocks and rerouting directly. This shift allows the car to make navigation decisions on its own, using camera input instead of relying entirely on preloaded maps. The system can spot detours or construction signs and plan a new path without human input.

New look and interface updates

Tesla refreshed the user interface for FSD mode. The center screen now keeps parking and speed settings visible while driving. Drivers can switch between modes or change parking preferences anytime. The “Start FSD from Park” button is renamed “Start Self-Driving,” and can be used anytime, not just when parked.

Better fault handling and camera care

The latest update adds smarter fault recovery. If the system loses confidence for a moment, like in rain or glare, it can now recover automatically instead of shutting off. This smoother behavior avoids pointless disengagements. Tesla also added a camera alert that warns if the windshield inside gets residue buildup.

Under the hood, FSD v14 runs a much larger neural network, around ten times more parameters than v13. This upgrade makes the system process scenes more deeply and react in a way that better resembles human thought. It can detect road users like cyclists, pedestrians, and smaller vehicles such as golf carts or strollers more accurately and give them safer spacing. Users report smoother handling through crowded streets and complex intersections.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk confirmed that v14.2 will be the next wide release, intended for the broader FSD fleet. For now, v14.1.3 is reaching a small group of regular owners to verify performance before that rollout. Testers say v14 drives “like a human being” and rarely disengages during mixed driving. Many are reporting multiple drives with zero interventions, calling this the most stable FSD build yet tested.

Tesla is still limiting the rollout to cars with its new Hardware 4 system. Those using older Hardware 3 units have not yet received the update and continue running earlier builds. A broader public release is expected soon once Tesla collects more feedback from current testers.

FSD v14.1.3 may only be in limited hands for now, but its early results look stronger than past releases. With a growing number of seamless trips and better safety behavior, Tesla appears one step closer to its next milestone, bringing supervised autonomy to the full fleet.
