Tesla has updated its app with a new feature that helps owners see what their car needs. With this app update, “Recommended Maintenance” section lists parts, their remaining life, and the estimated cost to replace them.
You can find the maintenance list under Service > Request Service > Maintenance. It includes parts like the cabin air filter, wiper blades, and tire rotation.

Each part has a percentage of life left, past service date, future due date, and estimated cost. For example, one Model Y owner shared that their filters had 77% life remaining ($59), wiper blades 55% ($133), and tires 20% ($65).

Each item can be expanded to show when it was last serviced and Tesla’s recommended interval. The section helps owners plan ahead, though some users say it’s not easy to locate in the app.
Part of a bigger app update
This maintenance feature is part of Tesla App version 4.50.0. The update was released for iOS around October 17-18, 2025. iPhone users were the first to get it, and it’s not yet clear when Android will follow.
The same update introduced “Tire Center,” which helps owners pick and buy Tesla-approved tires. It also added early code for remote screen sharing, so technicians will eventually be able to guide owners by viewing their app screens safely.
Tesla already has a maintenance summary on vehicle touchscreens. It tracks work such as tire rotations, air filter changes, and brake fluid checks. The summary keeps a digital record that stays with the vehicle, even after resale.
Now, the mobile app adds extra details such as how long a part will last and what the next replacement might cost. It connects directly to Tesla’s booking system for quicker service scheduling.
However, the app doesn’t yet record maintenance done outside Tesla’s network. Even if a third-party shop changed a filter, reminders won’t reset. The touchscreen version allows manual updates, but that hasn’t carried over to the app yet.
Musk has said he wants Tesla service to be “ten times better than others.” Tesla is improving its support with remote diagnostics. Engineers say about nine in ten issues can already be fixed without a physical visit.
Other automakers like BMW and Mercedes let owners see maintenance schedules through their apps. Tesla goes a step ahead by listing cost estimates and life percentages for each part.
This feature gives owners the costs upfront, so they can plan maintenance instead of waiting for a warning message.
