Police in Austin, Texas, discovered multiple incendiary devices at a Tesla dealership on Monday morning. The call came into the Austin Police Department at about 8:04 a.m. Someone reported dangerous items at the showroom on North U.S. 183 Highway. Officers got there and brought in the Bomb Squad fast.
Fire-Starting Devices Removed
The devices were built to set fires, not blow up. The Bomb Squad cleared them out with no trouble. No injuries happened. The property stayed intact.Police are still looking into who put them there and why. They don’t have any suspects yet.
Rising Attacks on Tesla Properties
This isn’t the first time something like this has happened. The FBI says there have been 48 similar cases at Tesla dealerships, cars, and charging stations across the U.S. since January 2025.
The FBI and the ATF have teamed up to investigate. Recently, protests against Tesla and Elon Musk occurred at the Austin showroom, but police are unsure if they were linked to the devices.
Investigation Continues
The APD and federal agents want help from the public. They’re asking anyone with info to step up. The Tesla showroom is back to normal now, but people are worried about safety at Tesla sites everywhere. More news will come as the investigation moves forward.
