Elon Musk has hinted that he will send a Tesla Cybertruck to Devarjaye “DJ” Daniel, a 13-year-old from Houston battling brain cancer. The teen was honored as an honorary Secret Service member by former President Donald Trump during his speech to Congress.
A Chance Meeting
During an interview with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, DJ shared what he told Musk.
“I said, ‘can you do me a big favor, when you get back to Houston can you send us a Cybertruck down there?’”
he said.
DJ mentioned that Musk responded positively. Collins later posted about it on X, and Musk replied with a heart emoji. This suggests he may follow through with the request.

Teen’s Cancer Battle
DJ was diagnosed in 2018 with a rare form of brain and spine cancer that has no cure. By the time he was 12, he had undergone 13 surgeries. Trump highlighted DJ’s fight against cancer in his speech.
“Joining us in the gallery tonight is a young man who truly loves our police. The doctors gave him five months at most to live. That was more than six years ago. Since that time, DJ and his dad have been on a quest to make his dream come true,”
Trump said.
During the event, DJ received an honorary badge from U.S. Secret Service Director Sean Curran. The audience applauded the moment.
Political Reactions
Trump’s focus on DJ’s story brought both praise and criticism. MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace commented on DJ’s admiration for law enforcement.
“If he does, I hope he isn’t one of the six who loses his life to suicide,”
Wallace said, referring to police officers involved in the January 6 Capitol riot.
Some anti-Musk and anti-Trump users on X mocked DJ’s honorary badge. A few called him a “DEI hire” and joked that the appointment should be investigated.
