The Tesla Semi, Tesla’s Class 8 all-electric truck, is still in early production stages.

However, recent sightings indicate the company is testing innovative configurations for the vehicle.

Recent Testing Highlights

Tesla Semi advocate Zanegler recently shared a video of the truck being tested in Nevada with twin tandem trailers.

This configuration consists of two trailers being pulled by a single truck, allowing for more efficient transportation of various goods.

This sighting marks the first known instance of Tesla testing twin tandem trailers with the Semi.

The advocate noted that Nevada regulations even permit the use of triple trailers, hinting at potential future testing with this configuration.

Gross Combination Weight: The Tesla Semi can handle a fully loaded weight of 82,000 lbs.
Range: Depending on the variant, the Semi is capable of traveling 300 to 500 miles on a single charge.
Energy Consumption: The vehicle boasts an impressive energy consumption of less than 2 kWh per mile.
Performance: Featuring three independent motors on its rear axles, the Semi can accelerate to highway speeds in approximately 20 seconds.
Production Status: Initial deliveries of the Tesla Semi began in 2022, but production remains limited.

Tesla plans to establish a dedicated Tesla Semi factory in Nevada, with completion expected in 2025.

Once operational, the facility is projected to produce around 50,000 units of the Tesla Semi annually.
