Tesla Set to Build 168-Stall Supercharger Station in Central California
Tesla is expanding its charging infrastructure with plans for a new 168-stall Supercharger station in Central California. The facility, to be located off I-5 at W. Jayne Avenue, will rival the nearby Lost Hills location’s 164 stalls and significantly outsize the established Harris Ranch station’s 98 charging spots.
The newly revealed blueprints showcase several notable features. Most striking is the inclusion of dedicated pull-through charging stalls, a thoughtful design element for drivers towing trailers or cargo.
This addition addresses a common issue where vehicles with trailers would park perpendicular to conventional spots, sometimes blocking up to five charging stalls simultaneously.
Another significant design element is the integration of solar half-canopies over some charging stalls. While this aligns with Elon Musk’s original vision of powering all Supercharger stations exclusively with solar energy.
The timing of this expansion is particularly relevant as Tesla has recently opened its Supercharger network to other electric vehicle brands.
This new station will help meet the growing charging demands in California, offering high-speed charging access to both Tesla owners and drivers of other compatible EVs through what has become the world’s largest electric vehicle charging network.
