Tesla’s latest software update, version 2025.2, introduces new features to Service Mode, improving diagnostics and troubleshooting capabilities.
Availability and Requirements
This feature is currently available only for Tesla vehicles equipped with AMD Ryzen infotainment systems.
It requires a Service Mode+ subscription, which is designed for technicians. Vehicles with Intel-powered systems are not yet supported, though future compatibility may depend on hardware capabilities.
Overview of the Signal Viewer Panel
Among the four new Service Mode features in update 2025.2.6, the Signal Viewer Panel stands out. Other improvements include updates to brake burnishing, charge port calibration, and noise recording enhancements.
The Signal Viewer Panel shows live data from vehicle sensors. Users can pick signals to track in real-time. The panel supports up to 10 sensors, but only three can be viewed at once. Signals can be searched, added, or removed easily. It also has a recording feature.
Features and Functionality
The panel offers interactive tools for data analysis. Users can,
- Scroll through time to review past signal data.
- Tap specific points on the graph to see exact values.
- Use pinch-to-zoom to adjust the time scale across all graphs simultaneously.
Subscription and Purpose
Service Mode+ requires a subscription to Tesla’s ToolBox 3 software and a computer connection.
It is intended for diagnosing signal quality issues, electrical noise, and component performance during operation.
Tesla’s Continued Support for Repairability
Tesla continues to expand repair options with features like the Cybertruck’s Interactive Wiring Diagram and the Tesla Online Parts Catalog, which allows customers to order parts directly.
Lower subscription costs for ToolBox 3 make these advanced tools more accessible to DIY enthusiasts.
