Tesla Confirms Performance Trim for New Model Y

Tesla is adding a high-speed Performance trim to its new Model Y. Many people expected this, but the company hadn’t shared details until now.

Model Y Launch in the U.S.

The redesigned Model Y launched in the U.S. in late January. It was first released in other countries before becoming available in America.

The initial U.S. version didn’t include the Performance option. The “Launch Edition” is powerful but not as fast as the Performance trim found in other Tesla models.

Performance Trim Confirmed

Tesla has now confirmed the Performance trim is coming. Company executives Lars Moravy and Franz von Holzhausen said it will be available later this year.

What to Expect from the Performance Trim

Tesla’s Performance trims are known for their speed and quick acceleration. They are often the most popular option in Tesla’s lineup, especially for those who want both power and range.

Testing on Public Roads

There has been a lot of speculation about the Model Y Performance trim since the car was seen on public roads months ago.

The new Model Y is already out, but some cars still have covered bumpers. This shows Tesla is testing the Performance version.

More Options Coming Later This Year

Moravy didn’t share a specific date for the Model Y Performance release. But he did say other options are coming soon, including a seven-seat interior. This is a good choice for families.

Why This Matters

The Performance trim is for drivers who want faster speed and more power in their Model Y. Tesla fans should get more details as the release date approaches.
