2025 Tesla Model 3 Gets Top Euro NCAP Safety Rating

The 2025 Tesla Model 3 has earned a 5-star rating from Euro NCAP. The results were released on May 21, 2025. The electric sedan scored high in all test areas.

Scores across all categories

The Model 3 performed well in every section:

These scores apply to every version of the Model 3. That includes Rear Wheel Drive, Long Range Rear Wheel Drive, Long Range All Wheel Drive, and Performance All Wheel Drive.

Crash protection

In the frontal offset crash test, the car’s cabin stayed stable. The test dummies showed low injury risk for legs and knees in the front seats. The car also handled side barrier and pole crash tests well. It gave full protection to important body areas and got top marks in that section.

The Model 3 kept children safe in both front and side impacts. The front passenger airbag can be turned off for rear-facing child seats. The driver gets clear info when the airbag is off.

Features that protect people outside the car

Tesla added an ‘Active Hood’ to this model. It lifts up when the car hits a person. This adds more space above hard parts under the hood. It lowers the chance of serious injury for people hit by the car.

The Automatic Emergency Braking system has been updated. It now better detects motorcycles using a new algorithm. In tests with people walking, biking, or riding motorcycles, the system worked well.

New safety tools

The 2025 Model 3 comes with more new features:

Tesla said on its official Tesla Europe & Middle East account:

“We also introduced new features to improve Safety Assist functionality even further – like head-on collision avoidance & crossing traffic AEB – to detect & respond to potential hazards faster, helping avoid accidents in the first place.”

Crash tests performed

Euro NCAP tested the car in many ways:

They also checked how safe the car is for people outside it. The tests included checking automatic braking when other cars or motorcycles are ahead.

Compared to other cars

Euro NCAP tested 16 new vehicles in this round. Seven of them got 5-star ratings. The Model 3 was one of them. That puts it among the safest vehicles tested.
