Tesla makes FSD subscription easier

Tesla will let drivers pick a monthly payment for Full Self-Driving (FSD) right when they order the car. Drivers can choose to buy FSD outright, subscribe each month, or use a free trial. Raj Jegannathan, Tesla’s tech leader, says this is a coming update. FSD now comes with videos showing real trips instead of just digital animations. These changes let people know more about FSD before buying.

In North America, buying FSD outright costs $8,000. A monthly subscription is $99. The monthly plan allows drivers to pause it if needed. Tesla brought prices down, and more drivers can test FSD before making a final decision.

Free trial and more countries

Now, Tesla adds a free trial to the FSD subscription plan. Buyers in Australia and New Zealand get a month to try FSD when they buy a new car. The set price in Australia is $10,100 AUD. Subscription prices in these countries should match the North American monthly fee soon. Tesla has FSD active now in Australia, New Zealand, US, Canada, Mexico, China, and Puerto Rico.

Tesla is releasing FSD v14 soon. Elon Musk calls it a big change with ten times more data points. Musk says drivers will get fewer nags and smoother driving as the team tests it. Updates are expected to add pothole warning, better navigation in parking lots, and improved lane shifts.

Tesla wants more drivers to experience FSD. Subscription can lead to more users and give Tesla better feedback to build on its driving tech.
