Tesla Cybertruck Wins “Coolest Car” at 2024 Golden Steering Wheel Awards

Tesla’s Cybertruck earned the “Coolest Car” title at The Golden Steering Wheel 2024 awards, hosted by Bild am Sonntag and Auto Bild. The announcement was made during the prestigious ceremony held in Berlin on November 7, 2024.

Tesla Europe & Middle East shared the news on their social media platform X. The official Cybertruck account responded to the post by stating that it would showcase its golden steering wheel in the bed.

This victory is particularly noteworthy because the Cybertruck isn’t even available for purchase in Europe.

The award appears to be based purely on the vehicle’s innovative design and cultural impact. Recognizing its unique character, the organizers even presented Tesla with a special squircle-shaped trophy, departing from their traditional steering wheel design.

The ceremony, attended by Tesla Managing Director for Central Europe Simon Zwahlen, celebrated various achievements in the automotive industry.

Other electric vehicles also received recognition, including:

• Porsche Taycan Turbo GT – Winner in the “Luxury Class” category
• Kia EV3 – Winner of “Best Car Under €40,000”

According to Axel Springer’s press release, this year’s winners represented a diverse range of vehicles, with electric models making a particularly strong showing across multiple categories.
