Tesla’s Spring update starts rolling out new FSD 3D vehicle assets

Tesla’s 2026 Spring Update (2026.14+) is quietly expanding what drivers see on their screens. Some owners are now reporting European-style semi trucks appearing in their Autopilot and FSD visualization display, a sign that Tesla is methodically rolling out a sweeping overhaul of its on-screen vehicle recognition system that was first telegraphed months ago.

First shared by @norbertcala on X, the European semi truck sighting confirms that assets discovered in Tesla’s code back in October 2025 are beginning to go live.

The model’s appearance is particularly notable given that FSD is not yet officially available across most of Europe, with Tesla still running regulatory pilots in countries like the Netherlands and Sweden.

The trail leads back to software update 2025.38, released in October 2025, when noted Tesla hacker @greentheonly decompiled the update and uncovered a massive library of new, highly detailed 3D vehicle assets embedded in the code. At the time, none were active, but their presence made clear that Tesla was planning a significant visual overhaul of FSD’s real-time perception display.

The logic behind the timing connects directly to FSD V14, Tesla’s most powerful neural network architecture yet. The earlier, smaller networks were built for broad classifications – car, van, truck, pedestrian. The upgraded model is vastly more capable, enabling the vision system to distinguish nuanced subcategories like a fire truck from a generic truck, or a stroller from a shopping cart.

What’s already live in 2026.14+

Beyond European semi trucks, the 2026 Spring Update brings broader visualization improvements. Tesla has integrated Unreal Engine into its software stack, delivering console-quality graphics to vehicle displays, though currently limited to the Model 3 Highland (2024+) and Model Y Juniper (2025+) with AMD Ryzen-powered MCU 3 infotainment. Older vehicles equipped with MCU 3, such as select 2022+ Model 3 and Model Y units, are expected to receive the upgrade in a future update.

The full list of upcoming 3D assets

According to the code discovered in update 2025.38, here is the complete list of new vehicle and object visualizations expected to roll out progressively:

Emergency & service vehicles

Public & commercial transport

Trailers

Vulnerable road users

Smaller vehicles

The simultaneous appearance of European truck models in a U.S.-focused software update reinforces Tesla’s broader push to prepare its stack for a full FSD launch in Europe. Currently, regulatory reviews in the Netherlands, Germany, France, and Italy are still underway.
