Tesla quietly brings 3D Supercharger Site Maps to Europe with 2026.2

Tesla is extending its 3D Supercharger Site Map feature to Europe through the 2026.2 software update, after starting with a limited pilot in the United States in late 2025. The update is moving out in stages, and reports from a Tesla owner in Belgium now point to active support at some European Supercharger locations.

Release trackers list “Supercharger Site Maps Expanded” in the 2026.2 notes, so the feature is no longer confined to the original test sites in California and Texas. Yet the company has not published a formal country-by-country list, and the exact European coverage is still uncertain.

What the Supercharger Site Map does

The Supercharger Site Map replaces a basic stall counter with a detailed 3D representation of each supported station. When drivers tap “View Site Map” on the charging screen or route to an eligible site, the car presents a top-down 3D view of the parking area, access routes and nearby buildings.

In this view, free stalls appear in blue, and busy stalls appear in gray, so drivers can read station capacity at a glance. The system also marks accessibility stalls with wheelchair icons, and it renders vehicle models such as the Model S, 3, X, Y and Cybertruck in the stalls where charging is active.

Extra context at the charger

The map adds more than stall status, and that is central to how drivers may use it. It highlights nearby amenities within walking distance, including food outlets, restrooms and shops, which can help owners plan how to use their charging stop. At locations that accept non‑Tesla EVs, the layout view marks stalls that are blocked or reserved, so drivers can avoid confusion at mixed-use sites.

Drivers have several ways to access the feature. They can tap “View Site Map” when the car is routing to a supported Supercharger, and at some locations the 3D map can appear automatically when guidance ends on arrival. Owners can also search for a compatible Supercharger on the in‑car map and tap the round station icon to bring up the 3D layout, even if they are still at home.

From 18 pilot sites to wider reach

The feature first appeared in Tesla’s 2025 Holiday Update with an initial set of 18 Supercharger locations, almost all of them in California plus one in Texas. That group included high-traffic sites such as Harris Ranch, Firebaugh, Santa Monica, Williams and several stations in the Bay Area, including Fremont, Cupertino, Mountain View, Menlo Park, San Carlos, San Bruno, Union City and Marin City.

At launch, Tesla charging executive Max de Zegher said the goal was to make Supercharging feel “a little more magical, especially at larger and busy sites,” relying on precise digital models of the stations and live occupancy data.

With 2026.2 now in circulation, the feature is starting to appear in Europe. A Belgium owner’s video and Tesla’s regional Supercharger listings indicate that at least part of the Belgian network supports the 3D view, in a country that has about 21 Supercharger locations. Yet Tesla operates more than 1,200 Supercharger sites and roughly 15,000 connectors in Europe, so coverage is still partial by any measure.

The company has not said how many European stations now offer Site Maps, which other countries are in the first wave, or when the rest of the network might follow. Release‑stats services track 2026.2 as a growing but not universal rollout.

Hardware needs and software context

The 3D Site Map depends on newer infotainment hardware. Reports on the 2025 Holiday Update state that cars with AMD Ryzen-based media units can use the feature, while some older Intel-based systems may lack the graphics capability for this type of rendering.

The 2026.2 software release began reaching cars in January 2026 and includes other changes involving navigation, Autopilot behavior and minor interface tweaks. Yet for drivers who depend on long-distance charging, the Supercharger Site Map stands out as one of the most visible additions in this release.

For now, owners in Europe who have 2026.2 and AMD Ryzen-based cars can check their local Superchargers and see if the 3D Site Map appears on screen. When it does, a simple pin on the map turns into a detailed layout of the station, the cars in it and the services nearby, giving drivers more context before they plug in.
