Tesla has begun rolling out Full Self-Driving (Supervised) v14.2 (2025.38.9.5) to vehicles equipped with Hardware 4 (AI4) and this update lets drivers choose speed profiles and parking spots before starting FSD.
With the new version, people can pick both driving style and arrival spot before activating Full Self-Driving. Speed Profiles range from Sloth (very slow) to Mad Max (more aggressive, could go above speed limits).
These profiles set both how fast your car goes and how assertive it behaves. Standard keeps things moderate, Chill tones things down, and Hurry speeds up where it can. This system replaced older ways of adjusting speed.

Parking is now smarter. When starting FSD, you see five choices for where the car will park: Parking Lot, Street, Garage, Driveway, or Curbside. Tesla remembers your usual spot at each location and it makes the process easier next time. Once you pick, the car plans the route based on how you want to arrive. For example, choosing Curbside means the car goes for the closest available curb spot instead of a parking lot entrance.
Other improvements in the update
Tesla improved its neural network to see more, detect emergency vehicles better, and even spot people giving hand signals. For tricky driving moments like lane changes and turns, the car makes decisions with less hesitation now. Emergency situations have more careful responses, like pulling over for police or ambulances. The parking and speed profile system works together with the upgraded navigation. The car plans real-time detours if roads are blocked.
At launch, only owners with HW4 hardware got the update. Tesla plans to roll FSD 14.2 out widely to more vehicles soon. Elon Musk says bigger improvements for smoothness and picking the best parking spot are coming, probably in version 14.3.
Most drivers found the system much smoother than before and needed to take control less often. In future updates, Tesla is looking to make parking automatic and smooth out the driving even more. For now, anyone with the right hardware can set how their car drives and parks before FSD starts a feature that makes each trip more personal without extra steps during the drive.
