House Speaker Mike Johnson says Congress will dig into the rising vandalism and violence against Tesla and its customers. This comes after former President Donald Trump labeled the attacks “domestic terrorism” during a White House event.
Johnson made the announcement on X, saying:
“The heroic work of Elon Musk has so panicked the radical Left that they’re now calling him ‘racist’ (?!) and engaging in domestic terrorism to attack Tesla owners and their vehicles! Congress will investigate the sources of these attacks and help the DOJ & FBI ensure those responsible are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
The push for action comes just after Musk visited Trump at the White House. The former president looked closely at some Tesla models and bought a Deep Red Model S for his staff. During the meeting, Trump made it clear – attacks on Tesla won’t be tolerated.
There’s speculation that Tesla’s new level of protection could be linked to Musk’s role as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Or maybe it’s just Trump backing his longtime ally. Either way, this signals a major shift.
With Tesla showrooms, cars, and owners becoming targets, some are calling for stronger action. If Congress follows through, those behind the attacks could be facing serious federal charges.
