Tesla has expanded the availability of its new weather radar system to include vehicles equipped with Intel processors, completing the feature’s rollout across its fleet.
This development follows the initial release of the radar system in the December 2024 Holiday Update, which was originally limited to vehicles with AMD Ryzen processors.
The radar system offers three-hour precipitation forecasts, helping drivers prepare for rain or snow during their journeys.

Wow, cool feature added to Tesla that I didn’t know was there. Active precipitation map radar. So good to see what is expected on a trip! Calling for freezing rain today and this feature made my day. pic.twitter.com/GpbwfUApeT

Initially, Intel-based vehicles only had the basic Weather at Destination feature, while AMD Ryzen vehicles had full precipitation mapping.
Also, Tesla has now successfully optimized the weather radar feature to operate efficiently on the slower Intel processors.
Despite needing extra development time, the Intel version matches the Ryzen counterpart in features, animation quality, and performance.
This expansion ensures that all Tesla owners, regardless of their vehicle’s processor type, can access comprehensive weather radar capabilities.
My MYRWD has AMD and v12 2024.45.32 installed & premium connectivity, but don’t see the weather radar. Do I need to activate to this somewhere.
BTW I’m located in the Netherlands
