Tesla’s ambitious project combining a diner, drive-in theater, and Supercharger station in Southern California is approaching its final stages. Recent updates reveal significant progress, including the installation of key features.
A new drone video from YouTube channel 247Tesla showcases the latest developments at the Los Angeles construction site:
Main Doorway Installation: The restaurant’s front door, a circular piece of glass with a small central hole, has been put in place. The purpose of the hole remains unclear, though speculation suggests it might accommodate a decorative element.
Supercharger Stalls: Several Supercharger stalls have been fully installed and are now covered with protective materials, including cardboard and green wrapping.
Mysterious Trench: A large trench has been dug in the auxiliary lot, though its intended use is not yet known.
The site, located at 7001 Santa Monica Blvd., is expected to feature:
- A 1950s-style diner
- Roller-skating waitstaff
- Rock and roll music
- Two projector screens for movie clips
The project, first proposed by Elon Musk on social media in 2018, is showing signs of nearing completion in the coming months.
Construction Timeline Highlights
- March: First projector screen frame erected
- July: Second screen frame constructed (delayed due to power line removal)
As of now, the projector screen frames are in place but still await the installation of projection surfaces. This unique Supercharger location continues to generate excitement among Tesla enthusiasts and locals alike, promising a blend of electric vehicle charging, entertainment, and nostalgia.
